How do I find audio and video materials?

Streaming audio recordings and videos

To find streaming audio recordings and videos using Library Search:

  1. Go to wmich.edu/library.
  2. Type title or subject of streaming audio or video in Library Search field.
  3. Select "Books and media" filter radio button below search field.
  4. Press enter or click Search button.
  5. Click "Audio" or "Video" filter name under Resource Type in filter menu or select checkbox next to "Audio" or "Video" and then click Apply Filters button at bottom of screen.
  6. Click "Online" link below the video in search results.
  7. Click resource link next to "View Online at". If you are off campus, you will be prompted to enter your Bronco NetID and password. Off-campus access is only available to WMU students, faculty and staff.

You can also find streaming audio and videos by browsing one of the streaming audio/video databases:

  1. Go to wmich.edu/library.
  2. Click the Databases icon button.
  3. Select "Streaming Audio/Video" from the Database Types drop-down menu.
  4. Browse any of the streaming video databases.

Physical audio recordings and videos

To find CDs, LPs, DVDs and other physical audio recordings and videos, use Library Search or visit the Audio Visual Room on the second floor of Waldo Library in Room 2030. This room holds a majority of our audio recordings. DVDs can be found along the wall outside the door.

To find audio recordings and videos using Library Search:

  1. Go to wmich.edu/library.
  2. Type title or subject of audio recording or video in Library Search field.
  3. Select "Books and media" filter radio button below Search field.
  4. Press enter or click search button.
  5. Click "Audio" or "Video" filter name under Resource Type in filter menu or select checkbox next to "Audio" or "Video" and then click Apply Filters button at bottom of screen.
  6. Click "Available at" link below the video in search results.
