I am a student at WMU and would like to work in the library. How can I find out how to get a job there?

Thank you for your interest in the University Libraries.  The first thing you need to do is put in an application.  Here is the URL for the page on our library site that contains the application and information about working here:

You can download the application, but you MUST bring it (or mail it) to Waldo Library.  You cannot submit the application electronically.

Generally, we do the biggest hiring in late summer, just before the fall semester begins.  The sooner you get your application in, the sooner it can be reviewed by the various departments.  If you have a special interest, e.g., music library, reference, etc., you may want to stop in at the appropriate library or department and introduce yourself to the supervisor.

If you have other questions, please email us back or call the Research & Instruction Desk at 269-387-5178.

Thank you for using our Ask-a-Librarian service and have a good day.
